Rating this place just for the duck alone since we only got roast duck to go as a snack. It was a late Friday evening quick stopover and most of the duck we saw earlier in the day was gone. There were perhaps 3 roast duck hanging by hooks as can be seen from the window and 3 roast ducks on the counter. My brother is a huge roast duck fan, and he said he would rate this an 8 out of 10 out of all the roast ducks he had. He ordered a 1/2 duck to go and finished it all in one sitting!

Very affordable comfort food as someone from Vancouver Canada where there’s a lot of good Chinese food. Kitchen food came out fast and hot and the roasted meats were very tasty

First time visiting after seeing it on XHS. Tried to pre-order roast goose but called too late the day before—they explained honestly it couldn’t defrost in time (appreciate the transparency). Also missed the Taishan rice roll since it’s only available before 3pm—next time! Biggest surprise was the lai fun—super smooth and perfect with roast duck/goose legs. Roast duck and char siu were excellent; roast pork still crispy though a bit heavy on five-spice. Better than most in DC, though I’ve had slightly better in NYC/Canada. Service really stood out. When I praised their BBQ, the server said, “Chinatown Philly has many good BBQ spots”—very classy. Even helped buy live fish from next door before closing with no extra charge. Prices were very fair ($37.95 fish incl. prep, $39.95 eel). Minor downsides: salt & pepper ribs lacked flavor; sizzling intestines had a strong odor. Wonton noodles and congee were average. Overall: great value, standout service, and I’ll definitely be back (next time pre-ordering goose).

I recently bought a whole roast duck from Ting Wong in Chinatown for $33, but it was very disappointing. The meat was mushy and too soft, and it had an unpleasant smell, as if the duck wasn't fresh. I definitely won't be coming back for the roast duck. I also tried the pork intestine (braised/pha lau), but it wasn't cleaned well and also had an off-putting odor. On the positive side, the wontons are delicious and affordable, and the combination porridge (congee) was okay. However, based on the quality of the duck and the pork, I’ll be skipping those dishes next time.

The food is really delicious 😋. This was my first time trying roasted duck and I must say I'm a fan. The prices are very good and the quantity of the food is lovely. The staffs so sweet and kind. I dine in and was served tea and and the house soup. I order the roasted pork and duck over rice. Additionally, I ordered the shrimp egg roll. The house soup was okay. I'd give it 4/5 but because it's free a 5/5. The egg roll is a 4/5. With the sauce 5/5. It's good it just it's a new flavor for me. The pork is a 5/5. The duck is a 4/5. The duck is new to me so I'm not used to the flavor but good nevertheless.
